There are materials that can not, or should not be blasted with steel abrasive. These include surfaces of stainless steel, aluminum, sheet metal, plastic, glass and fiberglass. For this reason Gateway established the capability of blasting with specialty media, tailored for the surface to be treated. Over the years we have utilized aluminum oxide, ceramic beads, glass beads, plastic, sponge, and even corn starch based media.

All work is done in an 6,000 sf environmentally controlled building, containing ventilated blast booths with full media reclaim capabilities. . Additionally, we have a “burn-off” oven that is capable of removing almost any organic coating if blasting is not required.

Work includes new and old carbon steel fabrications, cast iron antiques, automobiles under restoration, tire molds, Plexiglas and glass lighting panels, aluminum and stainless steel parts, and other items too numerous to list.
